NATO and the Arab League: The Importance of Being Earnest

This paper argues that in the wake of the Arab Spring, NATO needs to formalize and enhance its cooperation initiatives with the Arab League. Given that the League 'gives expression to the commonalities of Arab countries', the Alliance would be foolish not to use it as a vehicle to help build a strategic, sustainable and long-term partnership with the Arab world.
